A Light Rail train traveling westbound made contact with a vehicle Thursday morning at Brambleton Avenue and 2nd Street, according Hampton Roads Transit.

It happened at 9:31 a.m. The train stopped after contact was made with the vehicle. The train wasn’t badly damaged and it did not derail.

No injuries were reported. Four adults and two minors were on the train at the time of the crash.

The crash held up the Tide for more than an hour.

Bus service was provided between EVMS and York Street for the passengers that were on the train, officials say.

Since the wreck, HRT says they will once again reexamine the safety of the intersection.
