Lion Force is recalling about 2,400 boys’ “puffer coats” due to a strangulation hazard, according to the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

The coats are sold exclusively at Burlington Coat Factory stores.

The jackets have a drawstring through the hood which can pose a strangulation hazard to children, according to the CPSC.

In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines about drawstrings in children’s upper outerwear. In 1997, those guidelines were incorporated into a voluntary standard. Then, in July 2011, based on the guidelines and voluntary standard, CPSC issued a federal regulation.

This recall involves boys’ black hooded coats with dark gray drawstrings around the hood. The coats are 100% nylon on the outer shell with a zip-off hood.
