Police responded to a call of shots fired in the 3000 block of Parkside Drive at Forest Cove Apartments at 11:39am and found the 22 year old man.
The crime scene was right in April Brickhouse’s backyard.
“I just heard shooting in the back, I was standing in my living room, and I heard them shooting three times in the back,” said Brickhouse.
Brickhouse said the shooting is also alarming because a lot of kids live in the neighborhood including her 2 year old son.
The victim was transported to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with life-threatening injuries.
No suspect information is available at this time. Police continue to investigate the case.
