Chesterfield County, Va. – One woman says she made a horrifying discovery behind a Richmond shopping center on Thursday afternoon.

Lisa Scott-Derrah says she went to check on cats behind the Oxbridge Shopping Center in Chesterfield, and she found dead cats inside of a “shot box.”

She tells our sister station wtvr that she has kept an eye on the feral cat colony for years.

She says other dead cats she found did not appear to be shot.

The cats were shot in their shelters which are made out of plastic totes….quote should say the cats were found shot in their boxes.
I am one of the caretakers of that colony….we are still waiting for the police to make an arrest.

Mary, we live in the area and 3 cats are missing from the colony we care for. One is black and two tabby. Do you know if it could be the same cats? Please e-mail me if you know anything:
