Jay Gruden will be the next head coach of the Washington Redskins - the eighth since Dan Snyder took over the team as owner.

Gruden was officially introduced this afternoon by GM Bruce Allen during a news conference at 4:00 p.m.

Gruden is no stranger to Hampton Roads fans. Some may remember he was the head coach of the Virginia Destroyers in 2011 before leaving to be the offensive coordinator for the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals offense ranked 10th in the NFL this year.

The Burgundy and Gold lost 40 games in four years under Mike Shananan.

The brother of Super Bowl winning head coach and ESPN analyst Jon Gruden was the sixth coach to be interviewed for the position. This will be his first head coaching job in the NFL.
