Suffolk Police looking for man involved in pursuit on Friday afternoon

Suffolk Police are looking for a suspect involved in a pursuit on Friday afternoon.

Police say they received a call regarding a weapons violation in the 300 block of Ash Wood Drive.

Jonathan Standaert, 23, fled from the residence before police arrived.

Officers located Standaert’s vehicle and attempted to make a traffic stop. Standaert refused to stop and led officers on a brief pursuit.

Suffolk Police made the decision to end the pursuit for the safety of the general public.

Warrants were obtained for Mr. Standaert for Brandishing a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm by Convicted Felon, Reckless Driving, Eluding Police, and Driving While Revoked.

Standaert is a light skin black male, 6’2” and approximately 170 pounds. He is believed to be homeless at this time and living in his vehicle.  The vehicle is described as a silver Nissan bearing VA registration, WNZ-8263.
