Newport News, Va. - After money raised by children at Macedonia Baptist Church was stolen, NewsChannel 3 viewers took action to replace it.  Thanks to those donations, the kids were able to present the money to the church as a Christmas gift during service Sunday as originally planned.

For more than a year, the kids made weekly donations to a jug placed in the church. The monetary gift was supposed to support the church's ministries. They children had saved an estimated $700. After the money was stolen, the children had to start saving all over again.

After the story aired on NewsChannel 3, many of our viewers decided to take action and help these local kids fulfill their Christmas wish. After receiving multiple donations, the children were able to present their gift this Sunday for $1,260.
