Franklin, Va. - People are making this Christmas extra special for local kids.  NewsChannel 3 was there as several people brought toys and other items to the "Stuff the Police Car" event in Franklin Saturday.

Hundreds of toys and clothes were donated to support the Trooper Hill Toy Drive, which is in its eighth year. Residents of Franklin and Southampton County are eligible for these toys by signing up at the local Salvation Army.

Organizers will give out the items this Tuesday, December 10th and Wednesday, December 11th. The toy drive is in honor of Virginia State Trooper Robert Hill, Senior, who was struck and killed in 2006 by a passing vehicle in Southampton County.
