Previous: Virginia Beach, Va. - A Virginia Beach based Navy SEAL is in jail on federal charges after NCIS agents said he was selling military weapons online and at his Norfolk home for personal profit, a federal affidavit obtained by NewsChannel 3 said.

David Karl Becker is facing four federal charges including the theft and sale of government property, selling firearms without a license, selling stolen firearms and ammunition and selling stolen explosives.

Court records said Becker ran "D&C Outdoors LLC" where he advertised "firearms, ammo and personalized weapons."

Documents also said he used the site "gunbroker.com" to sell a live grenades they tracked to inventory for Naval Special Warfare Command Group Two based at Little Creek.

The affidavit said an undercover NCIS agent went to Becker's Norfolk home on several occasions and purchased smoke grenades, 200 rounds of ammunition and gas masks.

The agent said all of the merchandise was in "brand new condition marked with government inventory tags".

During one of the purchases, Becker said "it was easy to steal ammunition from his command," according to the documents.

Records go on to say five sailors attached to Becker's command told them he said "they could make a lot of extra money" if they had "sticky fingers."

The affidavit said Becker also told them it was "easy to take things like smoke grenades and ammo during field training exercises because they were unaccounted for and were not required to be turned in after training.

"Becker described that it would be easy to conceal smoke grenades in uniform cargo pockets."

A Navy review of records from Gunbroker.com revealed Becker's sold more than 50 weapons, weapons accessories and ammunition since October 2012.
