Williamsburg, Va. – Police are investigating after a person was stabbed overnight in Williamsburg.

It happened around 1 a.m. Friday, November 8, 2013. Williamsburg Police and Fire crews responded to a 911 call regarding a stabbing in the 700 block of Scotland Street.

When police and medics units arrived, the victim was examined and immediately transported to Riverside Hospital in Newport News for a wound to his right abdomen that was potentially life threatening.

The victim was treated and expected to recover fully, police say.

After speaking with the victim, police say he told them he was walking home when he was approached by a man who was 6-feet tall. He says the man was wearing a black, Steeler’s hoodie and he asked for cigarette.

When the victim tried to give the suspect a cigarette, the victim was hit in the head from behind by someone else.

He says the two suspects started to struggle with him for his back pack and they took it from him. Police say the victim did not know he had been stabbed until the suspects left.
