Verizon store robbed in Newport News

Newport News, Va. – Police are investigating a robbery that happened at the Verizon store in the 12000 block of Jefferson Ave near Patrick Henry Mall.

Police say a man entered the store wearing a Halloween mask and armed with a handgun.

The man forced his way in the store through a back entrance and forced three employees that were in the store to a backroom, then left the store with an undisclosed amount of money.

He is described as a black male, dressed in all black and wearing a Halloween mask.

No one was injured during the robbery.
