Virginia Beach, Va. – With the sun shining and live music playing, adults and children were able to take part in the 6th Annual Josh Thompson Walk & Beach Party. This annual event was organized to raise ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) awareness in hopes of finding new treatments and eventually a cure.

Excited race participants lined up at 11:00 A.M.  on 31st, to walk all the way down to Grommet Island Park. Grommet Island Park was donated to the city of Virginia Beach back in 2010 by the Virginia Gentlemen Foundation.

The event also allowed race participants and their families to take part in fun-filled activities! A treasure hunt for children, inflatable bounce houses, face painting, BBQ, hot dogs, cotton candy and much more! Football lovers were able to watch today’s games on big screen TVs under the Beach Party tent.

The JT Walk & Beach Party was organized by the Virginia Gentlemen Foundation. The VGF is a non-profit organization of young Virginia Beach locals who wanted to give back to their community and to help raise awareness for a friend (Josh) who suffered from ALS.
