Williamsburg Police arrested a 47-year-old man on Thursday afternoon after they say he broke into his neighbor’s apartment after dreaming that the neighbor was making bombs.

Bryan Sanderson called police from his neighbor’s apartment about what he discovered there.

Police arrived at the 200 block of Monticello Avenue and searched the apartment but found no explosives or explosive devices.

Sanderson, who has a history of mental health issues, advised police that he had dreams that his neighbor was making bombs.

Sanderson volunteered to be evaluated and was transported to Williamsburg Sentara hospital for screening. He was placed in a mental health facility in James City County.

Around 7:30 p.m., Williamsburg Police learned there was a disturbance at the facility involving Sanderson and that he had left.

Sanderson was located and arrested without incident. He has been charged with burglary and destruction.

He was transported to the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail where he was held without bond.
