Norfolk, Va. - Supporters of an imprisoned Norfolk man came together today to raise awareness of his case in an effort to get Governor Bob McDonnell’s attention.

Jermaine Doss's family says he has been imprisoned for over a decade for a crime he did not commit. Doss was convicted of murder-for-hire in the shooting death of a Norfolk businessman.

His family says they have collected more than a thousand signatures on a petition to the governor asking that he look into the case and issue a pardon.

Doss’s family says they plan to gather again in about a week outside the governor's mansion in Richmond before formally requesting a meeting with him.
