VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (WTKR) – Police are investigating a shooting that occurred Sunday afternoon at Jason’s Deli in Pembroke Mall.

Police say two groups of men were arguing in the patio area of Jason’s Deli when one man pulled out a gun and shot another man in the shoulder.

There were dozens of people inside the restaurant at the time who ran and ducked for cover.

“I was just blow away that a shooting happened here,” said shopper Mike Montaperto.

The victim ran into Sears for help and was transported to the hospital. He is expected to be okay.

After the shooting the gunman took off. Police are still trying to get more information about the suspect.

“Shooting over an argument that is no way to solve a problem, I mean you learn that in school you know, really early on, it is a shame,” said Montaperto.

Police say they are not sure what the two men were fighting about before the gunfire. If you have any information that could help call the Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
