Update: Jamaro Fields was arrested, without incident, by US Marshal task forces members in Portsmouth.

Portsmouth, Va. - Portsmouth police are looking for 24-year-old Jamaro Lamont Fields who is accused of sexual battery against a child.

“Not only is the victim a child, but what he did to her is absolutely heinous. She's not going to be able to get over the things that happened to her right away.  She's going to have to go through a lot of counseling,” says Misty Holley with the Portsmouth Police Department.

Police say Fields was supposed to be babysitting the girl he is accused of molesting.

Investigators are worried that there may be other victims who are afraid to come forward.

“This little girl is really, really strong.  She should be commended for her absolute strength in this matter because now she's made it known this man has done this to her, so it's going to stop him from being able to do it to other individuals,” says Holley.

But police say Fields has been hard to track down.

His last known address was on Richmond Avenue in the Prentiss Park neighborhood.

“Mr. Fields is not being cooperative.  Every time someone gets a lead on where he might be, he's gone,” says Holley.

Police say they need you to take action to help them find Fields before he strikes again.

“He's a sexual predator. Why would he do this to a child? There's no reason to do this to a child or anyone else,” says Holley.

Portsmouth police say that Prentiss Park address for Jamaro Fields is from 2011. He could be anywhere in Hampton Roads now.
