Chesapeake, Va. - George W. Carver Intermediate School was placed on lockdown Thursday morning after a hostage situation in a nearby neighborhood.

The lockdown lasted about 20 minutes. Police say 42-year-old LaFrance Moye-Nesbit was holding two hostages in a home close to the school on Broad Street.

The call came in around 9 a.m. Thursday morning.

Police were able to resolve the situation without anyone being hurt.

Moye-Nesbit was arrested and charged with abduction, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony and simple assault.

Phillip Nesbit, the woman's husband, was also arrested. He was charged with obstruction of justice. Police say he was disorderly with officers during the investigation.

They say a third person was interviewed and released.

No injuries were reported.
