Portsmouth, Va. - A 56-year-old woman was issued a summons in Portsmouth on Tuesday after brandishing a wooden gun resembling an automatic handgun, near Hodges Manor Elementary School.

Portsmouth Police received a call at 8:52 a.m. in reference to a woman threatening another woman at gunpoint in the 300 block of Deal Drive, across the street from the elementary school.

Officers responded and found Mary Schepp with a black wooden gun that resembled an automatic handgun.

Police say they later found out she was upset because someone had parked in her driveway.

Schepp tells NewsChannel 3 her husband had told a woman she could park in their driveway while dropping her kids off at school.  Schepp didn't know that and became upset.

She says she told the woman to leave and pointed the toy gun at her car as she pulled out.  Schepp says her behavior was caused by the fact that she was abruptly taken off of pain medication.

Schepp was taken to Safe Haven for a health evaluation.

No schools were place on lockdown and no students or staff were placed in harm's way.
