Norfolk, Va. - Police are investigating a double shooting in the 900 block of East Princess Anne Road near Tidewater Drive at Lexington Park Apartments.

Police say they received calls of gunshots fired in the area around 4:30am Saturday.

Units responded and located two gunshot victims outside.

One was pronounced deceased at the scene and the other was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Neighbors told Newschannel 3 they heard around a dozen shots.

One woman, who did not want to be identified, said she is worried for her two little girls who play on the playground around the corner from where the bullets were fired.

“It’s scary because you never know when it is going to happen, we could be outside just chilling, somebody come up shooting, you just never know, the bullets don’t have any name on it,” the woman says.

This is not the first shooting at this apartment complex in recent months. A month and a half ago, police say four men blasted bullets into a crowd at a high school graduation party.

Six people were shot including a 16 and 17 year old.

Parents say the recent violence makes them feel helpless.

Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding Saturday’s shooting and have not released the victim’s names. If you have any information that can help in this case – call the Crime Line 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
