Currituck County, N.C. - A high school assistant basketball coach is accused of sleeping in a hotel bed with a girl on his team all while his wife was in the next bed over.

It's just one of the reasons court documents say former Currituck County assistant basketball coach Nick Cahoon is facing indecent liberties with a student charges.

A search warrant says it all started when three girls went to the school's resource officer with concerns about Cahoon's relationship with another teammate.

Court documents show us that the girls always had a suspicion about their teammate and their coach, but they say they never had any proof until they found text messages between the two of them.

Those texts wished each other good morning and the two exchanged "I love you" messages.

Once police began investigating, they learned several teammates witnessed the two sneaking off together, massaging each other, and Cahoon kissing the student on her forehead.

A search warrant shows the girls basketball team traveled to see the football team play.

Apparently, Cahoon and the girl fell asleep in a hotel bed with his wife asleep in the same room in a different bed.

Court documents show Nick's Cahoon's wife is a woman named Lindsey, and the North Carolina High School Athletic Association says a Lindsey Cahoon is listed as the head coach of the Currituck County Girls Basketball Team.

School officials wouldn't comment on their relationship or answer our questions.

We’ll post more updates as they become available.
