Both suspects are now at Western Tidewater Regional Jail with no bond.

Suffolk, Va - Suffolk police are investigating a shooting that happened in the 300 block of Wellons Street around 10:40 p.m. Saturday. They've now identified two possible suspects.

Police arrived on scene and found 20-year-old Trovias Mayfield of Suffolk , lying in the street with gunshot wounds.

Mayfield was ground transported to Sentara Obici Hospital, then air-lifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital by Nightingale.

Mayfield was rushed into surgery and is now in stable condition.

Police are now looking for Taquan Burton and Gwendolyn Burton-Green who have both been charged with aggravated malicious wounding, shoot, stab, cut or wound, shooting in the commission of a felony and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.

Migdalia Daughtry used to live across the street from Burton-Green on Halifax Street. Daughtry never thought her former neighbor would be caught up in something like this.

"It's shocking to me,” she says. “Like I'm very surprised. It's unbelievable. I mean I'm
really speechless. I don't believe that. I don't believe she has anything to do
with that. She's not a bad person at all. She's a mother. She's always watching
out for everybody's kids."

Both are considered armed and dangerous.
