Newport News, Va. - A Newport News mom says her daughter was attacked during a road rage incident.

“She corners my kids at a traffic light, gets out of the vehicle, rips off the door handle of my vehicle and starts smacking at the glass and eventually is able to attack my 16-year-old,” says the mom.

The mother says the teen had a fractured nose and sprained wrist.

It happened along a stretch of Route 17 starting in York County and ending at the Harpersville Road intersection in Newport News.

Mom asked us to protect her identity for the safety of her children.

“All I can say is she was recklessly driving prior to that and she just became angry because my daughter looked at her the wrong way,” the mom says.

A look that, she says, caused the woman to follow her kids four miles down the road, taunting them.

“She was emptying bottles of water onto the vehicle then throwing bottles at them, swearing and cursing at them,” the mom says.

Officials say the woman accused in the incident hit another vehicle while she was trying to drive away causing minor damage. They say a 37-year-old Texas woman was driving the other vehicle that was hit.

The Newport News mother told NewsChannel 3 that the woman accused had a young child inside the car.

Right now, Police are still looking for the accused woman. They say she was driving a silver Nissan van with the license number JZM-873 and is registered to a man who does not live in the Hampton Roads area.
