25 crewmembers honored for efforts during HMS Bounty rescue

Portsmouth, Va. – Today 25 crewmembers were recognized for their heroic actions during the HMS Bounty rescue.

The captain and a crew member lost their lives on the Bounty’s final voyage but 14 others were rescued.

Rescue swimmers Petty Officer 2nd Class Randy Haba and Petty Officer 3rd Class Daniel Todd were given the Distinguished Flying Cross.

Others who were on the HC-130 Hercules and MH-60 Jayhawk were also honored.
