July 4th Fireworks in Hampton Roads and the OBX

4th of July Celebration at First Landing SP:

Come out for a day full of fun events celebrating our Independence Day! All activities will begin under the big tent at the end of the main boardwalk on the beach. This fantastic day of fanfare will end with our annual fireworks display.

July 4th Celebration at Mount Trashmore:

Celebrate America’s birthday with live main stage musical entertainment, children’s activities and delicious foods! The night concludes with a BANG – ooh and ahh at our fabulous fireworks display that will fill the summer sky.

Free and open to the public with on-site parking (fee), sponsored by The City of Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation. Experience the Fun!

Stars and Stripes Explosion:

Multiple live performances on oceanfront stages attract tens of thousands of visitors and residents of Hampton Roads to a “star-spangled” salute to this great country of ours at Stars & Stripes Explosion! Musical acts offer something for everyone with tribute bands saluting some of the biggest names in music.

From 8:00pm-9:30pm, a stage erected right on the beach at 20th Street becomes the focal point for performances by Symphonicity (the symphony orchestra of Virginia Beach) together with the Virginia Beach Chorale. This musical program encompasses patriotic songs, Broadway standards, movie themes, and folk music. The show segues into a spectacular fireworks show at 9:30pm that explodes over the ocean in a burst of colors and patterns!

Just a reminder that Virginia Beach courts and the Virginia Beach Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office are closed on July 4 and July 5.

Norfolk:

Annual AT&T Fourth of July Great American Picnic & Fireworks:

Leave the grilling to us on the 4th of July and bring your family and friends down to Town Point Park from 5pm-10pm! Guests can feast on traditional All American Fare, including hot dogs, hamburgers, barbecue, seafood, buttered corn on the cob, juicy watermelon, lemonade… with all the fixin’s and much more! Relax on the lawn and enjoy patriotic sounds by United States Army Training and Doctrine Command Band. Then watch as the sky lights up with the fireworks display at 9:30pm!

Note: The fire marshal and staff will be present at both shows to make sure the public has a safe event.

Holiday concert and fireworks:

Join us for a holiday concert w/ Fireworks July 3rd @ 7:30 p.m at Chesapeake City Park. Come out and celebrate our nation’s birthday under the stars, featuring lively music and a fireworks finale! FREE admission. $5 fee for on-site parking. Bring lawn chairs and/or blanket. You can purchase food at the concessions for a picnic supper.

Stars and Stripes Spectacular:

A Suffolk celebration like no other!  Bring your friends and family, beach blankets and lawn chairs, to Constant’s Wharf Park and Marina from 6-9pm for an evening of live music, fest food and most importantly, terrific fireworks!

Fourth of July Stars in the Sky:

Everyone is invited to the Virginia Peninsula’s biggest Fourth of July party – Fourth of July Stars in the Sky at Victory Landing Park. This waterside park, which offers spectacular views of the James River, is filled with 30,000 people who come to celebrate our nation’s birthday. The evening begins as crowds gather to enjoy summer’s favorite foods from a variety of vendors and children check out the rides and crafts. As dusk approaches, the stage comes alive with the music of a nationally-known entertainer. As the last note from the concert ends, the sky over the James River explodes with a kaleidoscope of color in a spectacular fireworks show.

Fort Monroe:

Fourth of July Fireworks @ Fort Monroe:

Fireworks begin at 9:30 pm and will launch from the area adjacent to Batteries Irwin and Parrot.  Duration of the fireworks is expected to be 15 minutes.  Plan to arrive early, bring your coolers, lawn chairs and blankets and park in designated areas only.

Surry:

Fourth of July Bonfire:

Enjoy a bonfire on the beach in celebration of Independence Day! Join others as we observe fireworks from several nearby locations along the banks of the James River. Show your pride and patriotism alongside the historic James River! Plan to park at the Visitors Center or the River House Parking Lot and walk a short distance down College Run trail, for easy access to the location of the bonfire. It will be on the ‘Visitor Center Side’ of the footbridge on College Run Creek Trail. For comfort, bring chair/blanket, drinking water, and family friendly games to share. While minimum lighting will be available along the trail, a flashlight is recommended. Marshmallows will be provided for roasting! The Bonfire will be lit at 9:00 p.m., fireworks begin around 9:30 p.m.

Independence Day Celebration at Colonial Williamsburg:

Celebrate the anniversary of the nation’s birth in Colonial Williamsburg’s Revolutionary City for a vibrant and patriotic celebration. With a dramatic reading of the Declaration of Independence, a leisurely picnic, a performance by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra featuring the talented JoAnn Falletta, and a dazzling display of fireworks- you’ll want to come early and stay late into the evening.

Yorktown Independence Day Celebration:

Thursday, July 4 – Independence Day Celebration, 9 am. Come to historic Yorktown and salute America along the waterfront beginning with a 9 a.m. patriotic parade on Water Street and during its evening Independence Day Celebration, featuring a bell-ringing ceremony at 7 p.m. and patriotic entertainment at 8 p.m. at Riverwalk Landing, followed by spectacular fireworks on the York River at 9:15 p.m. Free.

Outer Banks:

July 4th Celebration Music and Fireworks:

Outdoor Pavilion concert at 8 p.m. Pack up the lawn chairs, blankets and picnic and bring family and friends as the nation celebrates July 4th in the Outdoor Pavilion at Roanoke Island Festival Park. Fireworks will be provided by the Town of Manteo beginning at 9:30 p.m. A patriotic concert will begin at 8 p.m.

4th of July Fireworks at the Avon Fishing Pier:

Celebrate 4th of July on Hatteras Island with fireworks at the Avon Pier. Tune to 95.9 FM from 9-10pm to hear the live broadcast of the Fireworks.

July 4th Fireworks Spectacular in Nags Head:

The Town of Nags Head will host, in conjunction with the Nags Head Fishing Pier and the Outer Banks Visitors Bureau, the annual Independence Day Fireworks Spectacular on Thursday, July 4, 2013 at 9:25 p.m. on the ocean pier located at Mile Post 11.5 on NC Route 12, S. Virginia Dare Trail in Nags Head. The fireworks display will last approximately 25 minutes.

Parking at and near the fireworks display site will be directed by the Nags Head Police Department. Those attending the show are encouraged to park east of U.S. Highway 158/S. Croatan Highway. Those choosing to park west of U.S. Highway 158/S. Croatan Highway should use extreme caution while attempting to cross this heavily traveled roadway. All persons attending this event are reminded not to use or block private driveways.

Colonial Downs

HORSE RACING & FIREWORKS: At Colonial Downs, celebrate Independence Day with  horse racing, fireworks, live patriotic music from York River Concert Band, a family themed “After Party” with magician Jonathan Austin, Proverbial in concert, free ice cream & more. 4th of July Festivals in Virginia

Town of Windsor

The Town of Windsor has several activities planned for the holiday. They will have a car show, bouncy houses for kids, live music, a corn hole tournament and fireworks at 9 p.m.

Festivities will begin at 5:00 p.m.  Church Street will be closed from the intersection at route 460 and Church Street to the main entrance at Windsor High School from 4:30 until 8:00 p.m.  Handicap parking will be available on the Duke Street parking lot which is accessible from Court Street to A Street to Duke.
