A Virginia woman convicted of faking cancer is finally talking about the scam.

Martha Nichols made headlines for lying about cancer to raise money.

She was convicted of fraud for receiving money to cover medical expenses for a disease she didn't have.

Now she's opening up about it all.

"Knowing what I’ve done to everybody but especially my husband, my parents and my kids I don’t think there is any worse punishment than that. I have to respect that they don't understand this or they don't believe this for whatever reason. I know it's an unusual situation. It's bizarre. It's bizarre to us,” says Nichols.

Earlier this week, a judge suspended her sentence of ten years and ordered her to community service, to stay on her medication and get regular therapy.
