According to the criminal complaint in the arrest warrant for Davant Marshall, the 20-year-old junior at CNU confessed to setting five fires in the bathrooms of four different buildings on campus Tuesday.

The criminal complaint said Marshall intentionally set fire to trash cans or paper towel dispensers in the bathrooms.

Five fires were reported between noon and 5 p.m. Tuesday.  The first fire happened in the men's bathroom in the David Student Union building. Two hours later, another bathroom fire was reported at the Freeman Center.  Two hours after that, a fire was reported at McMurran Hall.  The last two fires were reported at Forbes Hall.  No one was hurt.

Marshall is charged with five counts of arson.  He is being held in the Newport News jail without bond and has been suspended from the university.  According to his bail determination sheet, he worked as a dock forehand at the Newport News Boys and Girls Club Thrift Store.

Authorities have not released a motive.
