Norfolk, Va. – Norfolk City Council has voted to approved the building a new luxury hotel and conference center in the city’s downtown.

The council vote was 7 – 1 Tuesday evening in favor of the 300 bed, 50,000 square foot structure with a 600 space parking facility at the corner of Main and Granby Street.

Norfolk Mayor Paul Fraim made a joint announcement last month with the developer and Gold Key/PHR Hotels & Resorts of plans to build the hotel.
