Virginia Beach Police are investigating after three people were shot outside Bentley's nightclub on Newtown Road.

The shootings come just a week after Virginia Beach Sheriff Ken Stolle told his deputies they were no longer permitted to work part-time security jobs at the club because he was concerned about their safety.

Virginia Beach Police say the three victims are all expected to be okay and sustained non life-threatening injuries.

Police say two women and a man were shot. One was found by officers who responded to a shots fired call after 2 am. The two other victims went to area hospitals on their own.

Right now, Virginia Beach Police say they do not have a motive or suspect in the shootings.

Sheriff Ken Stolle says he made the decision to prohibit deputies from working off-duty security shifts at Bentley's because he was worried about their safety.

"Bentley's has had over 300 calls for police service within the past year. There have been a number of arrests made there and I became concerned last week that we couldn't ensure the safety of deputies in that environment," Stolle explained.

Stolle says he's willing to work with any establishment to improve safety, but says until that happens he's not willing to put his deputies at risk.

"If you can’t provide the protection of our deputies let alone the public there, then we need to distance ourselves from that establishment," Stolle stated.
