UPDATE: Man sentenced to life in prison for murder

UPDATE: Hampton police say Jerrell Speller, a fugitive that was captured thanks to our viewers, has now been sentenced to life in prison plus 33 years for murder.

Speller was convicted of killing Christopher Moses.

Police say it happened on Saint George way in Hampton on March 10th.

But police couldn't find Speller for two weeks.

NewsChannel 3 featured Speller's mug shot in our taking action against crime series.

And he was captured in Norfolk.

Hampton, Va. - Hampton police are sharing new information about a weekend murder to try to catch the accused killer.

Police say 23-year-old Jerrell Marquise Speller shot a man at the King Street Commons Apartments Sunday morning.

Investigators say the victim showed up at an apartment with Speller inside.

Police say Speller appeared to shoot the victim for no reason.

Speller is wanted for first-degree murder and firearms charges.

Police say he goes by the nickname "Rell" and hangs out in the Park Place Neighborhood in Hampton.
