Groups to pay new $25 fee to use school cafeterias, gyms in Chesapeake

Chesapeake, Va.–Middle school sports are safe, but changes are still coming to Chesapeake Public Schools.

Officials had to make changes because the books aren’t balanced.

At Monday’s meeting, the superintendent explained new fees will be charged.

Parents, groups and sports teams will have to pay a new $25 fee to use school cafeterias or gyms in the city.

The superintendent is frustrated it has come to this. Adult education specialty courses were also restored.
