FORT EUSTIS, Va. - Army Community Service (ACS) held a "financial fair" Wednesday, Feb. 27 at the Fort Eustis Club from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. as part of Military Saves week.

The fair was held for Active Duty and National Guard/Reserve Service Members, Retirees, and Survivor Families representing all branches of the Military.

Military Saves is a Department of Defense-wide financial readiness campaign to persuade military service and family members, as well as the wider military community, to reduce debt and save money thereby ensuring personal financial readiness and positively impacting the nation's personal/household saving rates.

Military Saves encourages everyone to develop a financial plan, establish good credit, save a portion of each paycheck, and enroll in the Thrift savings Plan and (when eligible) Savings Deposit Program.

This year, Military Saves Week is from Feb. 25 through March 2.

During this campaign, classes will be given at ACS on relevant topics concerning current financial issues.

The Financial Fair featured organization representatives from: Financial Readiness, Emergency Relief, VA, Retiree Benefits, Housing, TRICARE, Red Cross, ACAP (Army Career Alumni Program), SCORE (Counselors to America's Small Business), JAG, SOS (Survivor Outreach Services), Langley Tax Center, Virginia Employment Commission, Chaplain's Office, USO, Spousal Employment, Savvy Shopper, Langley C.U., and 1ST Advantage C.U.
