Is it therapy or just fun on a horse?

A military family in Texas is fighting the system to make sure their daughter gets the care she deserves.

For a teenage girl, Kaitlyn Samuels lives a restricting life. Born with a brain disorder, and cerebral palsy she needs help to walk, help to do just about anything. But a couple times a week, on the back of a horse, she is free-and when you see her face, you know she loves it.

The daughter of a U.S. Navy pilot, Kaitlyns therapy was covered by TRICARE, the healthcare program for military families until last spring, a two-year battle ended when a judge told TRICARE it should pay.

TRICARE ignored the decision, and denied the family anyway.

Donations are now pouring in for the new Kaitlyn’s foundation. While the family keeps fighting, it will pay for therapy, and help other military families left to ride out similar situations on their own.
