Reports: Inmate found dead in Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail cell

An inmate was found dead in his jail cell.

According to the Daily Press, the 30-year-old’s body was discovered early Wednesday morning after a routine bed check at Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail in James City County.

He’d been there 3 days locked up on larceny charges.

The medical examiner is conducting an autopsy.
