Newport News, Va. - Hundreds of dollars stolen from a man who couldn't chase his robbers.

That's what happened to 62-year-old Kenneth Jones Sr. in Newport News on Friday.

Jones uses a wheelchair to get around after losing his leg to diabetes nearly 30 years ago. On Friday, he cashed a winning lottery ticket worth $500 at Mo's Convenience Store off Warwick Blvd.

While in the store, Jones gave $50 each to two clerks, as well as $5 to another customer and spent $20.

After he left the store and headed home, Jones says a young man who was in the store followed him and robbed him of his remaining winnings.

"All my money was in this jacket pocket and my wallet, so he just ran his hand right and there and I said, 'Man why are you taking my money, you're taking my money!'" Jones explained.

Surveillance images from inside the store show the man who police say robbed Jones. The suspect is described a young man wearing a blue jacket and a black hat with a red stripe.

Jones says he wants the man caught because he's worried about the safety of his neighbors.
