Reid is back with the team but he’s got a long way to go before he can fully recover, and who can blame him? I love how Morgan drew him into the case by playing upon his knowledge and desire to help. Reid was willing to open up a little, but as soon as you mentioned Maeve or her murder, forget it.

The team was tracking an artist who drained his victims of their blood so he could use it as paint. I decided against making cranberry popsicles while watching this one. It was a little too much on the “eww” factor purely because I think there are people who do use blood as paint. It’s not my thing. I love when Reid decided he should join the team out in the field. It wasn’t enough to be helping over the phone, he needed to be there and they obviously needed him.

I think that’s what I love about the “Criminal Minds” team so much. The members add their own expertise to solving the crimes. Some skills are featured more than others, like Garcia for example, but without each other they would miss clues. I do like that the writers didn’t just wrap Reid’s grief up into a neat little bow. I mean, the team helped him pick up his apartment in the end but his pain is still very much alive. That’s how it should be. Reid finally opens himself up to someone only to watch her die in front of him. It’s not an easy pill to swallow.

Also, how cute was it that Garcia thought like Reid and put nuts in the basket to help raise his endorphin levels. It was such a sweet sign of crazy genius and quirkiness that just makes you want to hug those two.
