Two of the three Chesapeake inmates who helped fellow inmate Clancy Starling escape will spend an additional six months behind bars.

Michael Darnell pleaded not guilty, but he was found guilty and sentenced to six months and a 500 dollar fine.

Travis Christian received the same sentence, but he pleaded guilty.

Thomas Evans will only spend an additional three months in prison and pay $250 for his role in the escape.

Starling escaped at around 2:30 back on June 11th.

When Starling couldn't climb over the fence, the three men and Keith Mcadoo helped him climb down and then he escaped under the fence.

Two deputies were fired and three others were suspended because of the escape.

Starling was found nine days later.

He was sentenced to seven additional years in prison earlier this month.

Charges against Mcadoo were dropped after he testified against the other men.
