7 left without a home in Suffolk fire

Suffolk, Va. – Two adults and five children have been displaced after a house fire in Suffolk over the weekend.

It happened on Sunday, January 27, 2013. The call was received at 5:07 p.m. Suffolk Fire and Rescue crews responded to the house fire in the 100 block of Woodrow Avenue in the South Suffolk neighborhood. Officials say the fire was deemed under control at 5:33 p.m.

No injuries were reported in the fire.

Seven individuals – two adults and five children – have been displaced and are being assisted by the Hampton Roads Chapter of the American Red Cross.

The Suffolk Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause of the fire.
