Several Suffolk residents displaced after two separate fires

Suffolk, Va.—Today, fire crews in Suffolk put out flames in two different locations.

The first fire occurred in the 400 block of Bute Street in Downtown Suffolk. Calls came in at 5:42 p.m. They say when they arrived, the home was fully engulfed in flames.

Two people in the home escaped and they say another jumped from the second story window before fire crews arrived.

That person was transported with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The fourth occupant of the home was initially unaccounted for. 

Four adults were displaced in this fire. The cause of this fire remains under investigation. 

Then the second fire happened at the Colander Bishop Apartments at 925 Brook Avenue. Calls for this fire came in at 7:07 p.m.

Crews found fire in the attic on one of the end units of the building and three apartments were affected.

There were no injuries reported and everyone got out safely.

Two adults and two children were displaced and are now being helped by the Red Cross. 

Fire marshals are also investigating this fire.
