Homeless man shot to death in Newport News trailer park

Newport News, Va. – A man who was believed to be homeless was shot to death in a Newport News trailer park Sunday night.

Police say the 24-year-old was standing in front of a unit at the Americana East Mobile Home Park around 10:38 pm when a gold colored Nissan pulled up.  One gunshot was fired from the vehicle, striking the victim in the upper left chest. He was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The victim’s name is withheld pending notification of next of kin.
