Woman charged with grand larceny after police say Hummer is stolen in Chesapeake

Chesapeake, Va. – Police have charged one person and they are looking for another after they say a Hummer was taken from a resident’s home. 

Police say at around 8:15 Thursday morning, the two suspects were driving in the 4200 block of Quailshire Dr. when they saw a Hummer SUV running inside of a garage. 

They say the armed male, a 17-year-old, went into the garage and stole the Hummer. 

Police say the residents saw the suspect leaving their with the vehicle and they got into a Lincoln Navigator, contacted police and followed the suspect. 

The suspect then pulled over, got out of the SUV and into the initial vehicle he was in. The victims continued to follow them police say. 

Police say the two vehicles collided causing an accident as they were driving onto Rt. 664 from Rt. 58. 

Police say the male ran into a wooded area and the female was then apprehended. 

Joliff Middle School was placed on lockdown for an hour while police searched the area.

The female suspect has been identified as Micara Ellis, 18, of the 3000 block of Meadow View in Hopewell, Va. 

She has been charged with Conspiracy, Armed Burglary,Grand Larceny, and Use of a Firearm in Commission of a Felony. 

Police have not caught the 17-year-old. Charges are pending.
