Tonight – good news in Chesapeake.

Two weeks ago, NewsChannel 3 took action to help the Buffalow family in their quest to make sure children in South Norfolk are warm this winter.

Nischelle Buffalow and her family started the Warm and Fuzzy Coat and Sock Drive after seeing the need on their Thanksgiving Day event.

NewsChannel 3 helped jump start the effort by taking the Buffalows on a shopping spree –  buying $1,000 worth of socks and coats for the drive.

Since our story aired, several members of the community have been inspired to take action as well.

Nischelle Buffalow sent us photos of the coats and socks she’s been able to buy with cash donations – including one of $500 from several Secret Santas who saw NewsChannel 3’s story.

All the coats and socks will be delivered to children in need in South Norfolk between now and Christmas Day.
