Hampton police arrest one of three people wanted for homicide on Seldendale Drive

Hampton, Va. – Hampton police have arrested one of three people wanted for Saturday’s homicide on Seldendale Drive.

19-year-old  Lequis Avari Williams has been charged with one count of Murder, two counts of Robbery, two counts of Abduction and three counts of Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Felony.

He was also served with outstanding warrants for one count of Burglary, one count of Misdemeanor Assault & Battery and one count of Misdemeanor Larceny.

Two additional suspects remain at large.

Police say Williams and the other suspects shot and killed 19-year-old Bartholomew Kyle Robinson early Saturday morning. They say Robinson and a 19 -year-old Newport News female were sitting inside a 2008 Dodge Caliber when they were approached by the three suspects. A verbal altercation ensued and one suspect fired into the vehicle.

Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the three stole an undisclosed amount of cash and personal effects from the victims before fleeing.

Williams is currently in custody at the Hampton City Jail.
