Fire damages Newport News home
Newport News, Va. – A home on Mark Twain Drive in Newport News suffered major damage from a fire Saturday night.
Fire crews arrived at 11:59 PM to find heavy smoke and flames showing from the one story residence.
The residence was deemed to be “all clear” at shortly after midnight and the blaze was brought under control within 20 minutes.
Damage is estimated to be $150,000. The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Newport News Fire Department Fire Marshalls Office.
There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported.
