Newport News, Va. – A Newport News man is in the hospital after being shot early Saturday morning.
Police say the 30-year-old was shot around 3:37 am at 26th Street and Oak Ave.
The man was at a gathering in the1200 block of 26th street and went to his car to retrieve something. When he didn’t return people from the gathering went looking for him and found him next to his car.
Police say the man was alert and speaking when they arrived, but did not provide any information as to what had happened or who had shot him.
