(KDVR) – It’s normally reserved for a more private location, but a Berlin-based sex therapist says a growing amount of porn is being watched in the workplace.

Dr. Chistopher Ahlers told a U.K. based newspaper agency that around 60 million people log on to the world’s largest free porn website every day and two-thirds of those views are coming from office computers.

The second wave of views, not surprisingly, comes after dark; but an increased amount of ways to hide one’s online activity is adding to what Ahlers called a new “global phenomenon.”

Business Insider even has a list of tips on “how to watch porn at work and get away with it.”

With this bit of information comes a word of caution to employees: If porn violates an employer’s computer-use policy, you can be fired. That’s according to a 2011 case upheld by Court of Appeals.

Employers began to fight back with anti-porn filters when this trend began to seep into corporate world computers. Yet, technology to evade these filters began sprouting soon after.

Workplace porn in the United States has been a battle for employers for years.

According to a Washington Times report, a large-scale investigation was launched in 2009 at the National Science Foundation when it was found that a senior executive had spent “331 days looking at pornography on his government computer and chatting online with nude or partially clad women.”

Recently, Bloomberg News obtained a memo from the Executive Director at the Pentagon’s Missile Defense Agency to employees ordering them to stop “engaging in inappropriate content at work,” according to the Huffington Post.

That memo suggested that employees had been “accessing websites and transmitting messages containing pornographic or sexually explicit images.”
