Police identify suspect in Franklin homicide

Franklin, Va. – Franklin police have identified a suspect in Thursday evening’s homicide on Pearl Street.

Police are searching for 25-year-old Sol Damacus Burke, aka ‘Dukey’.

Burke is a black man, 6’ 4”, 230 lbs., and has a tattoo of “Dukey” on his right forearm and bicep. His last known address is 1215 Blythewood Lane in Suffolk.

Police say Burke should be considered armed and dangerous. Burke is wanted for the shooting death of Eric Dewayne Smith, who died of a gunshot wound to his lower torso at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital Thursday night.
