Man seriously injured in head-on motorcycle crash in Newport News
Newport News, Va. – A Tappahannok man is in serious but stable condition at Riverside Regional Medical Center after crashing head-on into a pickup truck in Newport News Friday night.
Police say the man was riding his Harley Davidson Motorcycle was south bound on Warwick Boulevard at the split where Warwick turns into Huntington Avenue at about 10pm when he turned south into the one-way northbound lanes of Warwick Blvd.
The driver of a Ford Ranger tried to stop when he saw the motorcycle heading towards him, but struck the bike head-on. The driver of the truck was not injured and was not charged in the crash.
Charges for reckless driving are pending against the man on the bike.
