Norfolk, Va. - An ODU student was caught on camera yelling at a campus police officer!

The YouTube video has gone viral but the student at the center of it says he's not sorry for defending himself.

Witnesses confirmed the student's story.

“I saw the cops speeding he was going really fast on the Segway. I heard a big screeching noise,” says one student.

Even the freshman who shot and posted the video on YouTube had something to say about it.

“The first cop missed the guy the 2nd cop had to stop.  They almost hit that kid and that's when he went crazy,” says the Freshman.

Travis, the ODU student, admits he snapped but claims he could have been seriously hurt if he didn't jump out of the officer's way.

“I apologize for the extreme language I used. I apologize for being visibly very upset and it’s embarrassing to me, but I don’t apologize for the principle behind the stance that I took,” says Travis.

After the confrontation, Travis got back on his skateboard and went to class.

He says he was not surprised that he was not arrested because he knew he did nothing wrong.

“I knew that he knew that if he took it further and arrested me, something he knew, it would just be a thorn in his side because he was in the wrong in the first place, and all he had to do was apologize to me and the whole thing would have been over with,” says Travis.

The sophomore says he wasn't looking to gain any notoriety or attention, but an admission to an "almost" accident.

“I just wanted an apology,” says Travis.

In a statement released to only NewsChannel 3, the campus police chief told us both officers’ actions and conduct is under review by the department and the matter has also been referred to the university's judicial affairs office.
