Hurricane Sandy moves a bit east, Outer Banks out of the track

11 PM UPDATE: A bit of good news tonight. The National Hurricane Center’s forecast track moved a bit east tonight (away from us). That takes the Outer Banks out of the track. However, Sandy is a very large storm and we still expect some heavy rain, gusty winds and flooding at times of high tide. Myles will have new info when you wake up on NewsChannel 3 this Morning at 5 am.

The forecast map shows Sandy reaching eastern Cuba by early Thursday before heading to the Bahamas. Tropical storm and hurricane warnings are up across the region.
