Once considered a rising star in the Democratic Party around Charlottesville, Virginia. Chris Dumler, the youngest member of the Albemarle County Board of Supervisors, is now facing felony sex charges.

Christopher Dumler slipped out a side door at the regional jail this afternoon after posting $50,000  bond.
Dumler was able to meet bond thanks to Cynthia Neff, a vice-chair for the Albemarle County Democratic Party.
Neff put her own house up as collateral for Dumler, saying the two traveled to the Democratic Convention in Charlotte together and remain good friends.
Dumler may be out on bond but that doesn’t mean he’s a free man.

“The judge issued a bond of $50,000 secured under the conditions that there be no contact with the victim or her family, her home or place of employment. And that he not consume alcohol. And those were the main issues that we were concerned about.” Said special prosecutor, Jeff Haislip.

A representative of the Scottsville District and several of Dumlers supporters were in court for his bond hearing, saying they are waiting to hear the facts of the investigation.

“We in Scottsville are anxious to find out the facts behind everything and as much as anybody because the Chris we know it doesn’t sound in character for him at all so we are paying close attention to see how things turn out.” Said Chris Kyle, a Scottsville resident.

Dumler’s girlfriend had no comment after leaving court this morning.and messages left for Dumler have gone unanswered so far. another hearing is set for December.
